For battery installers

A battery savings calculator for your own website

Homeowners want a number before they pick up the phone. Sparky Widget puts a branded savings calculator on your site, so they get that number from you, not from a comparison site or lead broker.

What your visitors see

A short calculator with your company name, colour, logo and phone number. The visitor picks their tariff (Octopus Agile, Go, Cosy or another time-of-use tariff), sets their annual electricity use, battery size and installed cost, and says whether they have solar panels or an EV.

They instantly see an estimated annual saving from the battery and a payback period, with the assumptions written underneath. Below that is your call-to-action button and an “Email me this estimate” option for people who are not ready to call yet.

Why a calculator beats a contact form on its own

A contact form asks for commitment before giving anything back. A calculator gives the visitor something useful first, which is exactly the moment they are most likely to leave their details or call you.

The enquiries you get are also better qualified: every lead arrives with the visitor's usage, battery size, tariff, solar and EV answers, so your first call can start from their numbers instead of from scratch.

How the estimate is worked out

On Octopus Agile the widget uses real prices from the last 24 hours: the average of the three most expensive hours minus the average of the three cheapest. For Go and Cosy it uses a typical fixed cheap/peak gap, and for other tariffs the visitor can set the gap themselves.

The saving assumes the battery covers up to 80 % of the home's daily use outside the cheap window, with 90 % round-trip efficiency. EV charging savings are shown on a separate line and are not counted in the battery's payback, because they come from the tariff, not from the battery. Every result is labelled as an illustrative estimate, not a quote.

Setting it up

Pay by card, fill in your branding once, and you get two lines of code to paste into any page: WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Shopify or a hand-built site. No website? You also get a shareable link (sparkywidget.co.uk/c/yourcompany) for your Google Business Profile, social pages or WhatsApp.

You can change your colour, logo, phone number and button text later from your dashboard, without touching the code on your site.

Try it: the live widget

This is the real calculator, branded for a made-up demo installer. On your site it shows your name, colour, logo and phone number.

Demo installer “Bright Spark Electrical” is fictional.

FAQ

Is this a quote tool?

No. It gives an illustrative estimate to start the conversation. Your survey and quote stay exactly as they are.

Do my customers need to be on Octopus Agile?

No. Agile is used as a live example of a cheap/peak price gap; visitors can also choose Go, Cosy or another time-of-use tariff.

Where do the enquiries go?

To the email address you choose during setup, to your dashboard, and to your CRM if you add a webhook (for example Zapier or Make). We never resell them.

What does it cost?

£19 per month, no contract. Cancel any time from the self-service portal; the widget stops showing at the end of the period you have paid for.
